Tom Botts is a 20-year veteran of the insurance industry with an exceptional track record of leadership, production, and agency growth. He began his career with Liberty National in 2003, where he quickly rose through the ranks from Agent to Unit Manager and eventually Branch Manager.
In his first two years, he ranked among the Top 10 agents nationwide out of nearly 3,000 producers. Within six months of becoming a Unit Manager, he again achieved Top 10 status out of 678 managers after building a team from scratch.
Recognized for his results and leadership, Tom was promoted in 2005 to build a new operation in Charlotte, NC. Within 18 months, that office ranked Top 10 in the nation out of 176.
At just 35, he became one of the youngest Field Vice Presidents in company history and later oversaw all Liberty National operations across the Carolinas. Under his leadership, the division became the #1 agency in the nation, a position it held for three consecutive years.
In 2010, Tom transitioned to Allstate, building one of the most successful agencies in the country. Within his first year, his agency ranked in the Top 1% nationally for growth, and over the next eight years, he expanded to multiple locations—earning recognition as one of Allstate’s top commercial writers for six of those years.
After selling his agencies in 2020, Tom founded Tidewater Financial Group of NC, a boutique group benefits firm that quickly became one of the fastest-growing agencies in the Carolinas.
In October 2022, Tom acquired GP Agency with his business partner, merging Tidewater Financial Group into the GP Agency Group platform to create one of the most dynamic and comprehensive distribution networks in the insurance industry.
In 2023, the partners launched Capstone Health Management, an innovative health efficiency and wellness program designed to help employers reduce costs while improving employee engagement and outcomes.
